I was bound for Africa. Africa—my imagination went wild. For my whole adult life I read the news, watched the images, heard people’s accounts and experiences. Then, I erased all those and their influences, destined to create my own as a twenty-four hour layover within London proved to be a pleasant primer. With one more interpretation of the continent from two native Africans, I fell into that snaking line from Heathrow and my Africa began.
